The last time I was in NYC and walking around Chelsea, I noticed a pile of garbage curbside with something that caught my eye … a large scale photograph mounted to plexiglas, sitting on top of the pile of trash waiting for pickup.
Maybe it’s just me, but it’s too bad someone decided this art work – a photograph of a small home with interesting architectural details – had outlived its appreciation and got tossed in the trash. The palm trees in the background would suggest an island location somewhere, but the straight-on view of the small building (and the fact that it’s red) reminds me of a famous William Christenberry photograph.
I left it there, but I wonder who the artist is? If anyone recognizes this, share what you know in the comments section below.
