Australian Open serves up champagne dinner
Piper-Heidsieck kicked off its second year as the official champagne of the Australian Open with an intimate dinner at Mr Miyagi in Melbourne on Friday night. Guests donned a touch of red to toast the Happy Slam with Piper-Heidsieck’s Chef de Cave Émilien Boutillat, who is one of the youngest ever in the history of champagne.
Having just jetted in from Mexico Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich joined actress Stephanie McIntosh; Keep It Cleaner Co-founders Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw; AFL Player Marc Murphy and his wife Jessie and media personality Josh Gibson at the dinner.
Guests could feast on salmon nori tacos, pork sliders and tempura broccoli. But the highlight was Mr. M’s Piper Pav – strawberry and champagne pavlova, Piper-Heidsieck champagne ice-cream, Piper-Heidsieck gel and a champagne marshmallow.
The luxe brand will bring French glamour to Grand Slam Oval with its champagne bar, La Maison Piper-Heidsieck, serving a range of champagnes including its signature Cuvée Brut NV, Rosé Sauvage, and Essentiel Extra Brutand Vintage 2008. Tennis fans are invited to write a message of love and support for those affected by Australian bushfires on the Love Note Wall.
Bondi’s French Riviera pop-up
Australia’s most famous beach has had a Mediterranean makeover for a chic summer pop-up bar. On Tuesday Bondi’s Bucket List transported guests to the French Riviera for the summer-long pop-up bar with premium French vodka brand Grey Goose.
Guests including stylists Jeff Lack and Jade Jeffries, Luke Calopedos and Joe Tavella from 2 Hungry Guys, fashion influencer Violet Grace Atkinson and former Harper’s Bazaar fashion director, Thelma McQuillan were welcomed with a watermelon spritz or ruby spritz on arrival followed by a limited-edition espresso martini gelato.
With great food and music, the French-inspired bar is the perfect spot to watch the summer afternoons slip into evenings, with a cocktail in hand of course.
IN: Dr. Martens Blaire gladiator sandals.
OUT: ‘Dry January’. The damage from 2019 is done, just enjoy summer.
