The Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) 303rd annual exhibition took place last week at Mall Galleries in London.
The RBA currently has 115 elected members who participate in the annual exhibition along with artists selected from the open call. This year, we’re delighted to congratulate two RBSA members on their awards at the RBA exhibition.
Mark Fennell RBSA
The Winsor & Newton Painting Award

The Winsor & Newton Painting Award was presented to Mark Fennell for his self portrait The Diagnosis pictured above.
“I painted this self portrait with palette knives soon after being diagnosed with Lymphoma, I think it reflects how I felt at the time.” Receiving the cancer diagnosis was such a shock, but Fennell felt compelled to paint himself and show how he was feeling. The chemotherapy treatment was successful, and he now feels ‘healthy and well’.
Anthony Yates RBSA RBA
The Michael Harding Award (II)

Other selected works by RBSA artists included David Brammeld RBSA (previous winner of Alfred Daniels Personal Favourites Award and The Gordon Hulson Memorial Prize).

RBSA President, Wayne Attwood Hon RBA, also had two selected works in the exhibition (pictured below).
