Art will blend with wetland area near the planned development
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A sculpture garden will be a part of the River Point District north of La Crosse’s downtown.
The proposal passed this morning at the La Crosse Arts Board.
The space will include art that is different than much of the art that is already in La Crosse.
The plan is for the garden to integrate into the surrounding wetlands.
“Work that if it were to dislodge would be able to safely flow with the water perhaps, you know something like an earth work, that would be minimally invasive,” said La Crosse Arts Boar dmember Jennifer Williams.
The arts board will hold a listening session at the end of this month for community members to share their thoughts about the project.
