Fans of Sioux Falls’ Arc of Dreams can now own leftover materials from the making of the river-spanning sculpture.
The Arc of Dreams went up earlier this year over a span of the Big Sioux River as it crosses by Raven Industries headquarters in downtown Sioux Falls.
Sculptor and South Dakota artist laureate Dale Lamphere fashioned unused scraps into unique sculptures, which are available for sale at six different Sioux Falls retailers.
“As that helix was going around they had to measure it exactly to fit, so he saved those,” said Jeff Hanson, an organizer with the Arc of Dreams and SculptureWalk.
Lamphere used material from the helix and from the blue piping used in the sculptures supports, mounting his re-worked creations on Sioux Falls quartzite.
The pieces go for between $500 and $1,000, Hanson said. They are available at the following retailers:
- Rehfelds Art and Framing
- Piper Custom Framing and Art Gallery
- Rug and Relic
- Sticks and Steel
- Ode to Food and Drinks
- Gunderson’s Jewelers
Proceeds from the sale go to SculptureWalk and Lamphere.
